Plating
These standard fir French doors were clad in two stages, first stage in copper, the second with bronze. Texturized and plated in our shop, we patinaed the metal and then clear coated it to lock in the color
On this home in Los Altos we had a number of projects. The first being the structural columns; 28 steel "I" beam posts that hold up this home had to be cleaned, conditioned and textured before plating. All 28 columns were then primed and plated in place/on site. This process was done before doors, windows and drywall, so we compartmentalized every room so as to not disrupt other work being done on the home.
This art wall is a stylized version of Israel. All the different tones on this wall are simply different alloys (mixtures) of metal applied to the wall and in some cases patinaed for effect. The sculptures were created in Israel by a world-renowned artisan and depict actual building in the towns and villages they represent.
